Through market analysis, interviews, surveys and the identification of the main vendors present, a map of the available solutions will be created, providing companies with guidance in choosing the best solutions suited to their specific needs.

Introduction

The Ecommerce market develops mainly thanks to its ability to evolve technology to support the customer experience.
The double-digit percentage turnover growth of the last 15 years has been mainly enabled by the research and development carried out by merchant suppliers who innovate their services every year in order to make online shopping even easier. PNRR tenders have created an important window of opportunity in recent months to invest with subsidised finance or, in some cases, even non-repayable grants, which is why today the most proactive companies are accelerating the transformation of their technology stack after having slowed down due to a new generalised approach of financially sustainable growth rather than turnover development (with a few exceptions such as the pharmaceutical sector).

The Market's word

Some key common elements emerged from the analysis of both online traders and service providers’ opinions.
Similar to last year, the overall satisfaction with the services (taking into account positive and very positive evaluations) never reaches 75% of the surveyed operators. This data shows that there is still room for improvement and suggests potential opportunities for new players willing to enter the ecommerce support services sector.
Operators prove to be most loyal to Technology Partners and Agencies, with an average satisfaction of 73%, followed by Payment Systems (71%), Marketing Services (62%) and Advertising Services (64%).

On the other hand, dissatisfaction (including the ratings ‘unsatisfactory’ and ‘completely unsatisfactory’) emerges most clearly in the areas related to Innovative Technologies, where the satisfaction rate reaches a mere 33%, which is understandable in a context of continuous experimentation. Other areas with significant levels of dissatisfaction include Ecommerce Platforms (15% dissatisfied), Catalogue Management and Marketplace (15%) and CRM and Customer Service (14%).
