The Ecommerce Italia Awards, based on the monthly Ecommerce Ranking of Casaleggio Associati, reward the most popular online sales sites.
The second edition saw Amazon, Subito and eBay prevail in the top places. From the analysis that examined over 5,700 companies selling online in Italy in 17 different product sectors, the leading e-commerce companies in our country emerged, according to 5 different categories:

Ecommerce ranking calculation
The ranking aims to estimate the popularity of ecommerce sites in Italy and the calculation is based on the algorithm that determines the monthly Ecommerce Ranking, which processes the following data:
· Unique Visitors: total unique visitors on a monthly basis in Italy (Casaleggio Associati estimate on Semrush data)
· Online popularity: brand relevance according to CA data and estimates (data not visible)
· Average time: Average length of time a person spends on the analyzed domain during each visit
· Bounce rate: Percentage of visitors who leave the site analyzed after viewing only one page
· Relevance: overall score calculated on the basis of previous data, through the algorithm that we constantly improve
The classification has no statistical value but is indicative of the balance of power existing between the various players according to the parameters defined by Casaleggio Associati. At the moment, the data referring to the Apps are not considered.
Choice of the winning companies
To determine the winners, the data relating to the "Ecommerce Ranking" of Casaleggio Associati were analyzed on an annual basis and the appropriate corrections were made, to avoid discrepancies and obtain a ranking that reflected the positioning that emerged throughout 2023.
Fastest Growing ranking
The ranking was created by aggregating three different factors: absolute growth in terms of climbed positions, relative growth based on the value of climbed positions and the percentage increase in unique visitors year on year.
Top 10 Innovation ranking from the Ecommerce Italia Community
The ranking is based on the certified vote of members of the Ecommerce Italia community, created through the Camelot.vote platform. Each member has the opportunity to answer the question "Which are the 3 ecommerce sites selling in Italy that have innovated the most over the last 12 months?" indicating up to a maximum of 3 different websites.

The analysis on the 2023 data referred to 5.707 companies that sell online in Italy in a broad sense - from products to services - divided into the main categories.

The Ecommerce Ranking, launched in 2021, collected websites through different sources: DB acquisition, monthly entries of relevant companies, suggestions from the public.
